Why We Started
Sandia Software Services was founded on a simple observation: legal professionals waste too much time on software that doesn't understand their workflows.
Generic project management tools don't handle case timelines. Consumer email apps don't meet compliance requirements. Enterprise legal software costs more than most small firms can afford.
We set out to build something different—specialized tools that:
- Solve specific legal workflow problems
- Work the way attorneys and paralegals actually think
- Cost what solo practitioners and small firms can afford
- Don't require a dedicated IT team to manage
Our first product, Case Timeline, emerged from conversations with attorneys frustrated by spreadsheets and sticky notes. Our second product, Email Saver, came from compliance officers drowning in email retention requirements.
Both products share the same philosophy: understand the problem deeply, build the minimum necessary features exceptionally well, and price fairly.

If a feature requires a training manual, we didn't design it right. Legal professionals should spend time on legal work, not fighting software.
